An easier way to display ad rates instead of sending pdf via email: Bloggers

I’ve noticed that to advertise on most of the few popular blogs in Nigeria, you’d have to first send them an email and then they’d reply with a pdf file. I was trying to place an advert on a few blogs a while back and it was very tiring. A friend told me a particular blog charged a certain amount and i was shocked when i received their pdf about a week later only to discover that they’d hiked up their price. It was a total turn off. It wouldn’t hurt them if i don’t advertise with them but what would it hurt to earn more from potential advertisers.

So, I made this little web app: http://www.whaticharge.com .

An example: http://whaticharge.com/ogbongeblog or http://whaticharge.com/lanreoladipo

Wordpress plugin and facebook fanpage integration coming soon.

tips, suggestion and insults welcomed. cheers folks

Home page design is kinda nice, but the inner page needs a lot of love.

What does the control panel for them to update their prices look like?

Like @akamaozu said, the inner design could really do with a lot of love. I like that a wordpress plugin is on the way to interact with this nimble service. You might want to add a widget to your todo list as well. Signing up and setting up rates was a breeze though. :+1:

@lanre there is definitely a place for this service as I have also struggled to get the latest rates from a few blogs in the past.

I would also suggest some sort of ‘independent’ analytic (historic) report to accompany the pricing.
E.g. the current Alexa rank, number of daily unique visitors, bounce rate, top traffic demographics, top traffic sources, etc.
Such that you offer more value for anyone seeking basic pricing information.

I would have and will still pay (think Freemium) some money to compare ‘independently’, the actual influence that my money can buy across the blogging community
