A Dating and Networking Site for Professionals is here

Sprocial (https://www.sprocial.com/) was born from the need to provide a transparent platform for Professionals to mingle without the usual mass of questionable characters found on most dating sites.

Sprocial is the place for that working-class lady or gentleman seeking to date professionals like himself/herself, or who just wants an avenue to forge friendships and connections with the right kind of people.

Please check it out, your reviews and feedback are highly appreciated. I also hope you get to like it enough to continue using.

You might want to drop the term “working-class”.

I am curious to know how you ensure questionable characters don’t get in. From what I have seen so far, it is trivial to get in with anonymous email addresses and I can claim to work for Total or Andela or even the Presidency easily.

While we cannot keep them from signing up, they will be moderated out with time as the 2 features on ground to address such go into full usage shortly:

  • Flagging of suspicious accounts to Admin

  • Verification that users are what they claim to be with a badge that highlights those that have been verified. (With incentives for members to actively seek verification coming up). So a member can be confident that a person is who they say they are when they wear the ‘verified’ badge.

However, we will appreciate additional tips on ways we can ensure a majority of our members are genuine professionals.

Thanks for checking out the site.

Muyiwa Saka, Facebook, Twitter and best, LinkedIn verification would help sort this out. Not fool proof but it will weed out some chancers.

Tade, Facebook, Twitter, phone number and best, LinkedIn verification would help sort this out. Not fool proof but it will weed out some chancers. If you don’t have a robust LinkedIn profile I would question that you are a genuine working class professional.

I think it’s good to keep that in. So there is clarity

Has it reached this stage? Is this meant to disrupt Aunties and Pastors matchmaking recommendations??

You can consider only allowing emails with the company domain name to signup. i.e name@companyname.com

Not all companies/businesses have custom domains.

Yes, this is one of the options we have for verification of occupation and position.

Thanks everyone.

Would also appreciate feedback on ease of registration and user experience.

Hi Tade,
Hope you are well? Greta work with Sprocial by the way.
Can I have a quick chat with you about this thread please?
I sent Lola a message on LinkedIn with my details. Please ask her for it.

Nooo naa that may sound unethical for you to be receiving mushy mushy things on a corporate email platform :joy:

Sprocial.com …because people who wear ties and work in air-conditioned cubicles cannot be “questionable characters”.
