We wrote an open source bank parser

Still on this community hustle, Akin and I (Devcenter) reached out to a few friends and strangers to experiment as Devcenter Square, a simple idea to get people to work together on open experiments.

Our first project is something I was already working on, an extensible parser to chew bank statements and shit out transaction sheets. We made a gem, made an API and learnt a lot in the process. (We even wrote a java API to unlock pdf files given a password. Whew!). We currently have a meager three bank support, but we’ve managed to build a framework that makes it super easy to add other banks and statement formats.

It was really good to work with Timigod, Ollaollu, Lolu, Onyekachi and Ben Daniel on this.

We’re language agnostic at the Square, and if you have any ideas you think befit community development, please send me an email at opemipoaikomo@gmail.com

@FatherMerry hey bro, I admire the work you guys put into this. As a developer I am also impressed. I have started making API calls and so far its been awesome. I will get back at you if there are any issues. :+1:

Thanks for using it

I love this. Please keep up the good work, I will check it out and give you a feedback.

Nice to see this project progress… Once built a bookmarklet for gtb login and shared with few dudes…
Been using it for over a year and kinda feel guilty…
Would open source it soon.

Love devcenter square

Dude! Need that bookmarklet like ASAP. Logging in to GTB is so much stress. Thanks for the compliments

nice work yo!

although you forgot to acknowledge the one that started the first iteration and inspired the work as well as you making it open source. lol.
