Hi everyone I would appreciate your feedback for our two(2) months old startup www.ogaVenue.com.ng, It’s a booking portal for event venues.
P.S - Our hustle has been in the street from the first day of launch
Keep the hustle on, I’ve visited the website. Kudos for making it responsive! But the images tend to distort while resizing. Besides that, the fonts look too large.
The business model is cool, and I hope you can expand by handling events and even selling tickets for premium events. Try eventbrite and borrow from them.
Keep the hussle on bro and babes at OgaVenue

Thanks Ekene for the feedback.
Had a bit of trouble getting the search to work on my device (galaxy s4 google chrome). Search on mobile is pretty much a deal breaker.
I do like the idea of the concierge service but requires phone number? Seems like a bit much.
The idea of curated locations is very nice. Wish they had unique pictures, since I’m sure that’ll be a deciding factor for people picking a venue. Might have to do a lot of legwork going to these places and taking pictures. Alternately you can search online for pics of events at these locations to use. Might save you a lot of time and you can replace them with your own (or their submitted) pics at your own time.
Good luck with everything. It’s a lot easier to sit back and criticize, but I respect that you’re out there doing something. Keep it up
Thanks for the feedback. What was the exact issue you had using the search on your galaxy s4? Would like to know so we can get to work on it asap!
The essence of the phone number is to enable us constantly follow up with a customer, with the number of bookings we have closed so far we discovered before anyone completes the booking they would want to hear from us to ensure there is a human behind the service and we answer a lot more questions when we call them to relieve there fears…if any.
We really do prefer going to this places manually, closing deals and snapping the pictures. We are able to certify that all information on our portal regarding the venue is correct and not just some scam, because we are trying to win customer trust.
The home page search button wasn’t working when I checked but it’s fine now
No doubt using your own pics and going to each location is critical. I meant that using a stock photo to represent each one isn’t too helpful, so any source of pictures of the actual location would beat using stock photos. You can replace the pictures with ones you’ve taken, as you take them.
Nice site… Well here are my observations from on a desktop view
- The images on the slider seems to be overlapping. Get it fixed so you have a full image on each slide
- The word “Find and Book”… it appears a bit angry to me. You should make it a bit friendlier and soft
- The signup form and button should be aligned properly.
- The colors you used on various sections of the site are stiff and sharp. It should again be soft and friendly.
Good luck!
Thanks for your feedback. We’ll look into it.
Heja!
-
Replace those pictures with optimised high quality pictures. You have stretched the *?# out of those images too much.
-
Use consistent font across the website ( Doesn’t look consistent on my chrome/OSX). Your forms could use some nice CSS too. There is a disjoint in the UX.
-
The changing pictures under the Find and Book is a distraction from the search form itself. Something about the contrast isn’t right. You can improve on this.
-
I still believe you didn’t catch my attention in under 1 minute on the home page with your messaging.
-
Your Icons are so year 1999. Please work on those. There are tons of free and nice replacements online.
-
Any reason why the concierge service button is beside the search form button? its confusing.
-
Generally, cool service, I believe you can still modernise the website.
Good luck
Thanks Eddy for your feedback, you sound more of a UX guy. We’ll look into your recommendations.
