As you may already know we have had two events since this question was originally raised on radar.
After speaking to a few dedicated attendees, I believe it is time to step it up a notch. So the first thing to note is that the event is now called: ’Building Things for NG 2.0- London’.
Where NG 2.0 is Nigeria 2.0- in which almost everyone in this community is contributing to one way or another.
In a nutshell NG 2.0 is a new Nigeria crafted by millennials and beyond (Medium post loading…).
The event is targeted at Makers, Entrepreneurs, Product visionaries, investors etc interested in/building things for Nigeria.
That is, you don’t have to be Nigerian to be part of this event, your products/services just have to be mainly targeted to that sector.
Second thing is, there are some things which require input from those who would like to attend/have attended/or attending.
I have created a very short poll of the questions that would help mold future events.
On the first Friday of September 2016, we* had the 3rd (but first major) event for makers in London generally building things for Nigeria or closely related.
Aside from the success of the event, we stumbled on some surprising discoveries and revelations about the meetup. Some of which I will detail below.
But before I carry on, here is what Building Things for NG 2.0 is about
Thanks to all those that came. It was wonderful evening.
This time we are raising it up another notch from last time.
(It just keeps gerrin berra berra and berra)
More people have been joining us and giving us some great feedback. We have been listening attentively and we will be announcing some new changes which we are super psyched about.
So if you would like to attend the next one on November 4, please register here. Looking forward to seeing more of you.
Just a reminder that if you’re in London this weekend and haven’t registered yet, you should definitely pop over to our event this Friday and get a chance to meet fellow radarians etc.
I would love to meet some more of you guys. A chance to collaborate offline at least and put some faces to usernames etc.
Nice meetup. I will say this has been one of the most insightful African meetups I have attended in London. I only wished I could stay to the very end. Had to leave due to house emergency. Can’t wait for the next.
