The President of the United States of America, Barack Obama has launched his personal twitter account.
His twitter handle being @POTUS represents “President of the United States”. The account will be the personal twitter account for successive American Presidents as it can be deduced from the interaction between Obama and Bill Clinton.

The White House revealed that, “The @POTUS Twitter account will serve as a new way for President Obama to engage directly with the American people, with tweets coming exclusively from him.”

Obama joins a list of Presidents who interact directly with citizens via the social networking platform. One President that readily comes to mind is Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, Obama’s native home in Africa.
Internet trolls might want to take note that threatening the president carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
Obama has another twitter account @BarackObama which is run by the Organizing for Action staff and tweets by him are signed “BO”.
