A WishList For Santa TC-Radar To Give Us This Christmas For Being Good Members/Users

As for me:

1. A SuperLike Button - Not all positive posts are the same. Some are good and others are great. Some people deserve more than a like for what they put their heart and blood into when they create or make a comment/post/thread/topic. An example is this from @Ndianabasi. Please keep on my brotha. You deserve an honorary badge/award for that.

2. A DisLike/DownVote Button - On the other hand, while some of us are doing everything we can to encourage and uplift this community, we have those whose main aim is to be buzzkillers and kill our spirits. You all know who you are, and you all need help. We need to find a way to hide or make cancerous and negative comments/posts/threads/topics disappear.

3. Every Radarian or TC-Radar Member Must Create At Least One Topic For Every 24Hours That They Come Online - Our community needs to grow and what better way to grow than by having diverse topics to discuss about? Variety is the spice of life. We all know that it is easier to give replies than to create topics, but when you are a genius that can give 200+ replies but yet you are not sharing your intelligence with the community by having created a maximum of less than 5 topics ever since you’ve been on TC-Radar, how can we move forward?

4. A TC-Radar Mobile App - It is hard creating a topic on TC-Radar on my mobile device through my mobile browser. An app can save me time and work.

5. A TC-Radar WebBot To Create Topics For When Most Users Are Offline - I’ve noticed that there is a certain time at which there is no activity on TC-Radar. I wouldn’t mind if a bot could autocreate topics here from different tech sites, just to keep the party going.

6. A Criminal Sheet & Background Check/System of Crimes Committed On TC-Radar - Just like how we have badges to award those who have done positive things on TC-Radar and a background check/system to display it, we need to punish those who do negative things on TC-Radar and a background check/system to display each crime every Radarian or TC-Radar member has done.

7. A Real-Time Display of How Many Users (Members + Guests) Are Online - Knowing when most people are online and when they are not, will let others know the best time to promote a product/startup or create a topic in order to get maximum feedback. It doesn’t have to display/show who is specifically online (as in the username) but just how many members and guests are presently on here.

What is your wishlist for Santa TC-Radar?

@davidsmith8900 you deserve a superhero badge!

Seriously a good laundry list, even though I’m always amazed how much thinking time (& effort), you give to finding ways Radar can be improved, it must be a testament to how much impact it’s having…so it’s all good.

I’m with you on 1, 4 and 7. As far as 2 is concerned it’s the critics and buzz :honeybee: killers that make the world go round.

Plus clicking on linked items should open a new browser tab

@Bayo You can set that in your preferences

@davidsmith8900 #5 reminds me of this subreddit - /r/SubredditSimulator. A fine experiment if isolated but an annoying spam situation otherwise.

@PapaOlabode, I believe we are all superheroes, but thanks.
@blacquay, lol. Nice pun. You do realize that your comment can be considered a pun or an entrendre, right?
@Bayo, I am definitely with you on that.
@xolubi, I’ll definitely check that link out. Thanks for the info.
@adeplusplus, I’ll definitely eill. Happy Thursday by the way.
@FrankUgo, Im not mad at you. What if we were required to submit a post every 72Hours or every 3 days. Will you be cool with that?

Definitely do not agree with 3 until there’s a sorting/rating system for quality.

Can we also add more tags/categories?

Or sub tags
Especially under ‘Everything’ and ‘Products’

Product- app, website, plugin

Everything- article, question/help, UI/UX, backend development.

The reason why I suggest this, is that it’s much easier to sort through by eye for categories than reading each headline.

Hmmmm for #2. We want all comments, good, bad, cancerous or just plain stupid. SOme may not genuinely know their comments are negative so let’s allow all comments. This is not a gossip or political channel with keyboard warriors masquerading as superheroes! This is a platform for all things tech

Thank you @davidsmith8900 for the honorary mention :grinning: Great list you’ve got here. Well done.

The first thing to note is that Radar runs on the Discourse software. Though, it’s open source, I don’t know if Techcabal has the plan of tweaking the software further. Personally, I’m okay with the effiiciency of the current system.
