Maybe not. The price packs a punch.

Huawei has launched their newest smartphone,  the Ascend P7, a slim Android, with LTE support, at an event in Paris on Wednesday.

It is a 5-inch device with 1080p display, a 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13MP back camera, an 8MP front camera, a 2500 mAh battery, 1080p video recording and a micro SD card slot. But with  0.26 inch thickness and only 4.37 ounce in weight, it’s one of the slimmest and lightest LTE smartphones on the market. Not as thin as the P6, but close.

The device will be get to most of Europe, China, as well as some Middle East and Asia markets in May, which probably means it will take its sweet time before getting to Nigeria but maybe that’s just as well, because it will be available, in black and white, for a suggested retail price of $625/€449, 101,000. Yikes!

The Ascend P7 comes with many enhancements over the P6, but it’s not an innovative step forward. It’s features are  incremental with better specs, but basically the same design.
