Lagos, July 2022 – Kippa, the fast-growing fintech start-up offering digital business and financial management solutions for African SMEs, today announces that it has appointed journalist and digital marketing veteran Osagie Alonge as Director of Marketing. He joins the company from TeamApt and OPay where he led marketing functions across different finance and logistics product for small and medium-scale businesses within Africa. Through his experience, he has garnered significant industry experience and a deep understanding of providing value to small businesses within the continent using technology and marketing.

With over 70 employees across the continent and 500,000 registered merchants, the firm’s rapid growth makes Osagie joining the team a necessity. As Director of Marketing, Osagie will be an integral part of enabling the company’s growth, acquiring users across different parts of the continent and communicating the immense value the products serve for different classes of African Merchants. 

Osagie would be joining a team of experienced professionals, including Toyin Albert, Stephen Abah and Maneesha Negi, in leading the building and marketing of Kippa’s Financial Technology Products, which has proven to influence how micro businesses receive payments in Nigeria significantly. 

Before joining the Kippa team, Osagie was head of integrated marketing communication at TeamApt, another fintech company providing financial solutions based in Lagos, Nigeria. Before this, he spent two and a half years growing the OPay marketing team, where he was head of Marketing as well. His journalism experience also came from his Five years plus experience working as an editor at Pulse Nigeria and its other affiliate firms.
