Goodday all, I have been an ardent reader of Radar. I have a burning concern. I have tried Google Adwords(Banner and Search Ads), Addynamo, Nairaland Ads, Adroll etc but still not getting the desired traffic. My target Market is Nigeria. Advice needed.
You’ll need to be more explicit if you truly want useful advise. You wrote that you are not getting the desired traffic, can you provide a link to the target website/app/whatever?
What demography are you trying to target, whats your budget, what strategy have you employed in the past, whats your USP? Simple questions that’ll lead to a realistic conclusion.
It depends. Whom exactly in Nigeria you trying to reach? What are you offering of value to them?
If you could provide answers to this, then you might get advice on what could be the most productive advert strategy for your business.
“Desired” here is a relative term. Have you researched the conversion rates of these services to be sure your “desired” traffic is not asking too much? Do you really mean traffic (visits from the ads) or conversion (converting visitors to users)? What’s the bounce rate like? These are questions you want to answer to be sure you are not doing something wrong. I honestly think you are doing something wrong. Probably you are targeting the wrong audience or market.
Thanks for your responses. We run a Mobile Marketing portal. Where clients register, pay and send their messages…Link: www.kudisms.net
A few questions
What’s your average CPC on Adwords for Banner and for Search?
What demographic are you targeting?
While I am tempted to ask what your objectives are (traffic to the website or conversions, sales), I will advise you to always use the Google Adwords planner before you run any campaign. What does this do? It shows you if your chosen keywords are effective, the bid average for your chosen keywords, the size of the market and demography that you are targeting.
Have you thought about using other platforms asides Google Adwords to push this kind of campaign? Twitter? Facebook? I have never heard of Kudi SMS, why should I opt in? Are you offering free SMS credits to early adopters? What are the incentives? Will physical flyers be more effective at first, then digital marketing can follow?
If you don’t have a marketing/advertising professional on your team, this is the best time to get one before you burn all that precious dollars.
The objective is Sign up and Sales (i.e purchase of units). I know about Google Adwords Keyword Planner but I think I need more information about how it works( Will try to get some materials online though). Like I stated earlier, I have used Facebok, Addynamo, Nairaland Ads, Adroll etc.
We are also considering OFFLINE Banner/Flyer Ad Model. For now, we will work in introducing FREE units on new user Sign up.
Thanks for your response. Average CPC for Banner is 0.62USD while Search is 0.27USD.
I think you should get a professional to sort out your marketing. You don’t even know if offering the FREE units on Sign Up will bring people or grow your user base.
Get a professional.
- Can you upload a picture of the banner
- That’s a very high CPC. Average display CPC for Nigeria these days is $0.08. Elections are over
Bro, we implemented automated FREE Units for New subscribers on our former application but we changed our software and have not implemented it in the new structure. This should be done in the coming days.
Your banner is confusing for new potential users who doesn’t know anything about KudiSMS. Just like @plastiQQ said, you should get a professional or Read up more information on online marketing. You can try content marketing too.
We also have other banners preceeding this. Will upload later.
You should only do an “Have you seen the new…” ad when you’re retargeting.
For potential users, target them with an introductory ad.
“SMS at 1N” is a great tagline. Never forget the Call To Action button.
“Signup Now” “Login Now” “Start Sending” will work
Thanks @binjoadeniran. We are currently using the Banner for Retargeting on Adroll.
In response to the original question: The Most Productive Advert Strategy in Nigeria.
You could go through the Google adwords, Facebook and Twitter ads route by yourself or just hire a company like TwinPine to handle all the advertising for you, while you focus on strengthening the product (the latter of course doesn’t work if you already have a marketing team…or you ARE the marketing team).
Thanks @Bisong
The banner should be simple and straight forward.
The copy could be something like:
“Buy affordable sms @ NXX amount”
CTA - Buy Now
All other things are un necessary
I also don’t advise you use Google Ads to push a service with very low margins from the onset also. I’d rather meet clients offline first - determine my buyer’s persona and then use online marketing to target people like them.
Hope this helps.
