A few questions on the scholarships that will be given away weekly:
- Do you have partner schools?
- What is the maximum amount that can be funded or won?
- Is this lottery restricted to undergraduate courses
We will be licensed and regulated by the lottery board
and
We will provide many ways to fund your account
and
We don’t have a fixed launch date yet
It helps if you either have a ‘Launching Soon’, Phrase, written boldly on the Landing Page or ‘Beta’ placed along with the Site Logo.
The call for action ‘Act Now’ is not targeted to a proper href.
I’ll advice all winners category have related Education theme.
The 6-12 months technical training is quite cool.
We still have 2-3days training that are very vital for startups and company employees. Think Tom Associates related Courses. That would make more sense for the Third Category.

- Yes, we have partner schools in India and China already. We’re still working on Australia, Canada and Singapore.
2)There is no maximum amount to be funded. Although, we’ll advice people to play responsibly. You can’t win in cash, only in one of the three categories i.e degree, technical training and iPad/Laptop
3)No. It is for graduate and undergraduate.
So if I get this right, there’d be 4 winners for a degree study abroad, every month. How will this correlate with the admission time frame within the schools?
After each week, we will contact the winners through phone calls and notify them of their wins. Although they will get an email and sms notification immediately after the draw plus one other way to know their status which we plan to keep secret for now till we start operations.
We will then start processing their admissions and travel documents after each month. Since we have partnerships with the schools, we can get admissions for them even when the schools aren’t open for general admissions. By the time school resumes around August or September, depending on the country, the students will all be ready to travel to their various schools.
Sir, don’t you think there are better ways to improve the quality of education in Nigeria than encouraging people to seek scholarships abroad?
MORRIS FUND: I considered such a project myself but the demographic have limited funds and airtime, bandwidths & phones are their priority. Do some market research on campuses. Who pays the fees are you best demographic but Parents are generally NOT the betting sort in 9ja

The Moris Fund is strictly educational based, what we’ve planned now and what we plan to do in the future will all be focused towards improving education. We added the third category to make it more fun. The iPads/Laptops if utilized properly can still improve one’s education. Anyways, we will still take the third category into consideration - that’s why we’re a startup. We are ready to be flexible in everything and keep testing and improving to see what works and what doesn’t.
Off course, there are other ways and there will always be a better way to do something. Moris Fund isn’t a one stop shop atleast for now, but I being a student in Nigeria before moving abroad to study, I can tell you it works!!
I should also add that sending students abroad isn’t the only thing we intend to do, this is just our first step towards improving quality education. There is more!
Well, we’re glad we aren’t the only ones that have thought of this crazy idea. The more we work towards our launch, the more we see how crazy what we’ve set out to do is. But that’s what makes it more exciting!
Betting? I think the word you’re looking for is crowd-funded!
