Do you have properties on sites like Airbnb? Yes, you can simply import your listings to Http://vacationhosting.com.ng with one click.
Your site’s design needs some improvement.
- Your logo is uninspiring
- I enter the site, and all I see is a message telling me you’re in beta. How about showing me your value proposition? Telling me what the site is designed for? Whetting my appetite?
- Site really looks poor on mobile.
- Your “request an invite” button is not prominent enough, and is placed out of sight.
- What is that image (remnant of an image actually) at the bottom, and why can’t i see it in full?
I think you can actually optimize your beta flow… The primary CTA on the site should be to request an invite, or sign up for first dibs. Then the beta stuff can be done by sending users a custom URL via email, rather than having them copy-paste your invitation code.
Hope that helps
@Diakon: We need constructive and factual reviews, opinions, suggestions, or comments for our platform. That’s why we asked people to test drive our site for us.
I’m sure, you know what Private Beta means. It means the site is in a test mode and access to the site is exclusive to the people that we asked to request an invite. In this case, Techcabal Radar members only and I’m sure as a Radar member, you read what the site is all about on Radar before you accessed the beta front page of the site. That’s why we put the information about out platform on Radar and everyone including you has seen it.
Second, you were only on the front page of the site. You did not enter the site like you said. You need to request an invite and be granted an invite and then authenticate with the access code that we may send to you before you can access the site. So, your claim that you accessed the site is not valid.
Third, the site is presently in Private Beta and not Public Beta and we put some information about how to obtain the Invitation Code on the front page of the site and I’m sure you saw and read the information, going by the screenshot of the front page of site that you posted on Radar. The information asked visitors to locate the ‘Request Invite’ tab at the bottom of the page. The screengrab you posted also shows the ‘Request Invite’ tab clearly and everyone one on Radar who is looking at your screenshot can tell.
Furthermore, if you requested an invite on the site by clicking ‘Request Invite’ as we indicated on the front page, you would receive an email with an Invitation Code and instructions on where to activate the code and register on the site.
Fourth, if you had requested an invite and received an Invitation Code from us, you would have been able to access the site like everyone else and you would have seen what the site is about on the actual main page. I’m sure everyone that has received the code, activated the code and accessed the site would tell you that they saw what the site is about right on the main page of the site, contrary to what you posted here.
Fifth, you said the “site really looks poor on mobile” but that does not tell us anything, because you have not accessed the actual site yet with your mobile phone or computer. You only got as far as the beta front page, which is not the actual front page, which makes me wonder whether you are real or not with your comments.
Sixth, the image on the front page is an image of a room. You will need to rotate your phone and turn it to a Landscape mode to see what the image is. Also, the front page you looked at is only a temporary page and not a permanent front page. The actual permanent front page is inside the site, and you can only see the actual front page, if you request an invite and use the code we send to activate your access to the actual site.
So, if you really want to test our site for us, request an invite from the front page and we will send you an Invitation Code like all other people. Then you will be in the position to comment on the site and tell us whatever is wrong with the site like we asked for.
Finally, below is an insight into what Private Beta is for your information. Let me know what you find out ONLY after you’ve requested an invite and granted access to the site. Then we can go from there:
Private Beta Characteristics:
Access: Invite by Company
Participants: Dozens to Hundreds of People
Goals: Bugs, Performance, Accuracy, Acceptance
Feedback Loop: Constant engagement
Feedback Type: Bugs, Features, Suggestions, Tasks, Surveys, Forums
Product Type: Technology Products
Duration: Weeks to Months
Distribution: Pre-Release or Production-Ready
Exposure: Secret and Undisclosed
I’m sad to see that you miss the point of my statements. Your post is, in essence, defending the poor quality of your current page by saying it’s"not the actual site". Frankly speaking, that is ridiculous.
I believe I am actually doing you a favour by checking out your site.
Glad to see you have a specific set of goals for the beta. But I believe you’re making a serious mistake by not including UI and UX design in the list. Please understand that I am not trying to attack you, but I think you fail to understand the importance of good UX in business growth.
Like I said before, we don’t need you to stay outside the site to offer a review. Outside is not our platform. Request an invite like everyone else.
There are several people that have been granted Invitation Codes and are currently testing the site and we have just sent out the sixth batch their own Invitation Codes tonight.
If you can’t request a code from the front page, hold your peace and keep your opinion to yourself and let the serious minded people who have been doing it for us for the past four days and other people coming behind do the job.
Popcorn time.
Sixth Batch Invitation Codes:
Hello Guys:
We have sent out Invitation Codes to our sixth batch Beta testers tonight. Please check your email for your code.
Thank you.
@Johnny Please stop doing this. If you sent the invitation codes to your beta testers via email, there’s no need to announce it here. You’ve done it six times. That’s enough. Thanks.
@Diakon is like someone standing in front of a fenced and gated house, but decided not to open the gate to see what the actual house looks like and telling people the house has bad doors, faulty windows and misplaced bedrooms, without actually taking a personal tour of the house to see what’s actually inside. You know right there you can’t take him or his advice about the house seriously.
Vacationhosting.com.ng is introducing a new economy in Nigeria called Tourism Economy. We want to showcase Nigeria to the whole world. We want to make Nigeria a destination country.
From indications on the Lagos Rent thread , you guys are going to be providing full rental services with Dispute handling and management and I must add the default property management services that comes before that.
And you also continue to claim as a primary service; shared rentals which is a derivative of the larger rental space; then the continued claim on Tourism and its extensive industry, bringing your offerings to a dizzy cap.
Now, am not even trying to call you out for the heck of it. And i wont ask again why you’re not focusing on one offering, am telling you to. If no one has told you, hear it; focus on one product or on a few very closely related offerings.
Tourism and Rentals are loosely complimentary. Very thinly connected.
I have checked on your site, and I’d say it’s more suited for the shared rental offering.
No doubt you believe in your product(s) and yourself as the promised convener. This is good. The energy also in your introduction and every reply so far, has been great. But you’ll need to focus all that on one primary service. Try it. It doesn’t take away from your capacity, it reinforces it.
You can try testing with big religious events, canvas for house owners around redemption camp, Canaan land etc to short let their apartments for people coming. Good idea but you have a cultural barrier to break through. All the best.
PS focus on one offering to start with.
Did Radar become forgiving overnight? Or did no one notice that OP bumped this thread. After a warning from @lordbanks for that matter.
Special agent @xolubi, is everything okay?
I’m aware now. Let’s hope we don’t have to send OP on Radar vacation.
Seriously @Johnny, please follow forum guidelines. A third strike will result in your suspension. Stay blessed.
I don’t think his beta tester get email notifications like every other 1 billion+ email users. Please let him announce because we are idiots, and have no idea his actual intent.
@lordbanks. We are not sending announcements on Invitation Codes. We are clearifing our features to our testers.
Thank you for your question. We are a full travel site. Hence our name. When a traveller is planning a trip, he needs a place to stay, flight, what to do, what to eat and what to see. That’s how we built the platform. We completed the entire site: accommodations, flights, adventures, rides etc, early this year. We are currently beta testing accommodations part of the site, you will soon see the rest of the site at the end of June. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.
@lawwyy: Thank you for your insight. We’re aware of those barriers. What we are doing is new in Nigeria. But it is not new to the world. The whole world has been doing that for a long time and are used to it. The tourism sector generates several billions of dollars to other countries’ economies. Nigerians are not used to tourism in Nigeria. They are used to going to other countries for vacations. Unfortunately, the Nigerian economy can no longer support foreign exchange for foreign vacations. That’s why we are introducing what is called Staycation. That means taking a vacation at home. Nigeria has a lot to offer to Nigerians and the whole world, but does know this until now. We want to bring the world to Nigeria to generate more revenue to Nigeria and Nigerians. Oil is no longer selling.
We concieved this idea three years ago, and we started developing our site two years ago which we completed in January this year and have been been doing internal testing since then.
Coincidentally, the Buhari Administration is currently looking to promote tourism in Nigeria. Tourism will generate a lot of revenue for Nigeria.
Furthermore, the way we developed our platform (you will see the other part early July) will create a lot of jobs for Nigerians in the new Tourism sector.
We are going to overcome the cultural barriers. Let me knew if you have any more concerns or questions. We really appreciate your contribution.
Thank you.
