Sincere input needed for alabaro.com

Good people! I just came up with an idea here > http://www.alabaro.com
This is a “not for profit effort”. My intention is to make this a platform where people can get information about corrupt people in Nigeria.

Here are other things people can get on the website

  1. Read about court cases and the status
  2. Read story and court proceedings of any corruption case in Nigeria
  3. Help people connect to human right lawyers in case of rape, molestation and widows who are being victimized
  4. Help resolve conflict between people (already have some volunteers for this)

…and any input from this platform

This is going to be an open platform. Meaning people will be able to add to content and posts.

The project is not half done and I’m seeking for input and if possible partnership from people who are passionate about the project Nigeria.

It is not my project because it is bigger than me considering time an effort needed to keep the website alive.

How do you guys think up these domain names? What’s the rational behind it? That local sounding name will appeal to Nigerians, or a case of someone that succeeded just because…

But cool one you got there.

@akindolu What’'s in a name? It depends on what comes to your mind. The name is directly related to the idea if you think about it.

Thanks

Dude youre basically trying to build Change.org or another Civil Engagement Platform since youre including Rape, Child Molestation and other Vices i still think you should stick to Corruption and hopefully get a crack ass team of investigators that can become a better Saharareporters or follow the route of Wikileaks but be prepared to meet the Political demons who will not rest till the site is shut down, so be prepared.

Thanks @Freshboi_Ekundayo This is the type of feedback I look forward to. You just dropped something I need to think about.

Many thanks sir!

You are welcome, i suggest you go the route of Having a verified team of investigators who can get details of corrupt practises both in public and private sides, Many international organizations can and will support you, provided you have a solid team that can get the job done.

I would suggest you keep to corruption as well. It is an issue big enough to deal with for a life time. But exposing highly-placed people shoudn’t be treated with kids’ gloves.

Please consult far and wide before committing so much to the course. Seek legal counsel and support of veteran journalists (investigative ones) who can mentor you rightly. Be sure of the motive and integrity of whose advise you take though!

Bless up.

You might also need some Benin protection, like this one… Just in case…

Thanks… I’m getting scared about the idea…lol

Thanks obadeyemi

@kaybam It’s a good idea and a lot of people will appreciate your efforts and it will drive traffic to your site, no doubt. It’s a good social venture.

However, the only way you can succeed in this endeavor is to remain anonymous forever. If you don’t, you have to buy a bullet proof vest and watch your back every minute for as long as you live, if you’re living in Nigeria.

Right now, you have made the first mistake. You registered the domain name without hiding your identity. However, it’s not too late. Go to your domain registrar’s site as quickly as you can to hide your identity or register a new domain name with your identity hidden. A lot of domain registrars have this feature for a for a fee.

Take my word for it, before it’s too late.

@kaybam You’re welcome anytime.

Someone adviced that I should be anonymous. That is the first step…and yes I fear for my dear life

Your are very lucky to have asked before you fully start. I have heard of many cases where Bloggers were hunted and “executed” (even though it is not a Blog you are trying to build. Please Google search "executed Bloggers). I am not trying to further scare you.

Also note that there are many who have gotten international protection and awards for what you are about to do (please Google search "Award winning Bloggers). But if you are not willing to die for this caurse, (I’m not saying they will hunt you down, all I mean is, if you are not going to do it no matter what it takes, then…), please start something different.

No need to start something that you are not willing to do it well.

That is my honest advice.

Good Luck.

You can hear things for Africa!
Oh wait! Linda was being hunted and had to go seek asylum at Banana Island? Thanks for the tip.

Bros! You should probably delete your account too cause we don’t have HTTPS here, so some bad guys can infiltrate your system using SQL Injection and rat-out your personal data and Geo-location. Not kidding. I’ve been hearing things. “it’s only hear I hear O!” :joy:

See! Bamigboye also consider changing your email from kay4naija@*****.com to something else.

When you’ve forgotten how to spell ‘Scared’; then you’ll start making sense.
For now you can help us build a repo for @wkyo gif. It’ll come in handy.

Best Regards.

That was so candid and I’m so thankful to everyone. Sincere opinion is what I ask for and that is what I am getting. It’s not easy to fight the evil of corruption.

Remember I have other stuffs I plan to do on the website and not just this corruption thingy.

Way forward: I think I made some mistakes starting off and just got a clue of what to do from here.
No going back on this idea…again thanks for you contributions.

There are several ways of doing this kind of thing without owning or running a website.
