Damn funny thread. I have missed bunch of stuffs here, a better way to welcome myself back on Radar. Well to me, why disable new registrations because we want to decide a winner?
This could also be an opportunity to get in more tech-elites to Radar. Just passing by though.
They should still. Familiar or not. Especially the best performing ones. Thatās the whole point. Letās shake the basket together, and see what we can learn from this thing. A good pitch with high votes means sound business or not.
lool ā¦ not everyone is good at pitching, especially Me. Trust Me.
So I just focus on building a great business instead and letting it speak for itself (personal preference).
I prefer that starta startup competition though ( http://more.thestarta.com/startup-matchup-nigeria ) even though Jobberman beat PushCV 55% to 45% ā¦ it still feels very fair because nobody had to pitch.
Maybe when I get better at pitching, Iāll start pitching everywhere

Thatās what I am trying to say. Now you see: You build great businesses yet bad at pitching. If that can be extracted for everyone to see with data, that even the best performing sharphire startup didnāt even too well in the competition, that will get everyone to think again, about these things so we donāt think pitches are exactly any indicator of quality products/businesses/founders.
I understand, but itās extremely important for a founder to know how to pitch his/her startup if they want to raise money or attract early adopters. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!
For me, I just choose not to do press and public stuff yet; this is to encourage me to work harder in trying to build the business (still a lot to learn). Iāll definitely start pitching when the time comes (just personal).

what all of you are saying doesnt even make any senseā¦the competition didnt come with any terms and condition
The reasons why I pitched:
- No money is too small for a startup. Definitely $500 can comfortably pay the server bills for about 5 months.
- It is an opportunity to create impressions. No impression is ever a waste.
- It is an opportunity to test your pitch scripts. The more you do it, the better you become at it.
- There is an opportunity to pitch to wide audience including VCs. I think this was the primary motivation.

this thread is really stupid and pointless so what is the point of the first post in this thread trying to say new accounts were made just for voting. To me its really pointless creating this thread and whoever did doesnt have any job or is just hating at the winner.
I donāt understand how you did not see this coming. It is a competition based on voting, so i canāt tell my friends to vote for me.

This is just normal for any competition donāt make this into a big deal and go and get a life.

Have you checked the profile of the OP before u just jump on the thread and write statements like this?, he pointed out someone creating fake profiles to Vote for his startup which is actually not great, if we cant be transparent as much as possible what then is the point? Today it may not be you but like Asa said : ā No one knows tommorrowā
@rich_tm @Mohammed_Adetunji I created the thread. I work with Paystack. We are sponsors of the competition in question (and its associated event next Tuesday). Iām an active contributor on Radar.

Lol, but you know those two guys are alias profiles for some other account we know, but is too chicken to say stuff like this with the primary account.
They flagged the voters as FAKE or did you not read, pls post your startup and get friends to like but DO NOT CREATE fake profiles for Votes, its the Main point OP is passing across, jeez.
