It’s actually not bad, I like the fact that she is trying to evolve and for that I give her double thumbs up.
I joined in to see what the hype was about…I ended up visiting a red facebook. Reminds me of Lagbook.
I hope she keeps up the hype. Reward based business model is good, but need I say they don’t always survive.
Have listened to her video and for me it seems she just created “blogspot”…
I say so because she says you have your own page ===> blog
We pay you to placed ads on them ==>adsense
Buying stories is something I do not believe is sustainable… well its a cheap way to quickly get user generated content… The big issue I see is how, do you confirm that it was first given to LIS before it appeared on another site? What is the accepted Lag time…? How do people confirm that they actually sent it to you first ??
Again lets watch and see…
Wrong.
If Linda closes down her blogspot, it will force all her readers to Stella Dimorkokus.
So i got on board and got bored after 2 mins.
My recommendations;
- The site is far from ready.
- Timing may be against her. I would recommend a peack season like an election year where peeps are looking to read multiple versions of stale gossip. No offense intended.
- The red is just a no no for me.
- She should populate her FAQ/guide asap.
Anywhere, too bad I couldnt deactivate my account cos i aint going back again except a big news pointing in that direction.
Colour me skeptical, but maybe luck will be on her side.
Lol. This is the kind of social network Nigerians like.
Difficult to keep that going for long
This thing is gonna be a huge dump for confessionals & “Agony Aunt” type posts. And judging from the popularity of social accounts like Joro, Sub Delivery, & Hoe Story and even on Linda’s blog itself. Her audience is gonna camp in those comment sections just like they do on those.
who’s that?
The “Engrish” in that post

The second biggest gossip blogger after Linda Ikeji
Haha Lagbook
This thing will bleed Linda dry I tell you. The most important thing for her through this whole expansion process is to make sure the current cash cow doesn’t wane. I know of many entrepreneurs who had a good thing going, then expansion, chopping and changing was their downfall. See how Necole Bitchie is suffering nowadays, crying on YouTube about how she lost everything in her expansion drive
Linda Ikeji is not Necole Bitchie. She is a relatively smart businesswoman who understands that eyeballs = advertizing dollars and is chasing it the way she knows how. Can a Linda Ikeji Social Network fly? It doesnt hurt to experiment and its a far cheaper experiment for her than if she dumped money into a big media production like Jason Njoku. For the person saying she is trying to replicate blogspot, I do not think so. She is trying to compete with nairaland which is the Nigerian monster of self-generated content beating all comers whether naij.com, pulse.ng or linda Ikeji.
The issue is whether she can crossover. Many with deeper pockets have tried and failed. Billionaire Rupert Murdoch with MySpace. The billionaire google boys with Google Plus. Earlier there was a concept called geocities. The social network space is notoriously hard to crack but lets see. Linda Ikeji has a brand name. The social network will at least help her see how valuable it really is.
Many people be using Panadol for another person’s headache.
If you do not fall in to the categories listed below, SHUT UP and watch the grown ups play with their money.
- I have built a media site that is bigger than Linda Ikeji Blog
- I have a social media network bigger than Linda Ikeji Blog
- I have real experience in converting free internet traffic to over $1m
Stop talking about it if you don’t have the experience to prove you can do better.
BTW, is it your money?
If you have better ideas, go and do your own and let’s see how far you will get.
@PkayBola So in that regard, anybody who has not played football better than the players in their country’s national team, have no right to an opinion on the performance of the national team.
And all those who have never owned a bigger bank have no right to an opinion on how the bank should run their business.
And all those who have never owned a bigger network operator have no right to an opinion on how the Telcos should plan/price their applications.
@Uduak, Abeg take am easy…
You have to stop watching CRTV (Cross River Television)
Watch international TV and you will see that only ex-sports men make comments from an informed stand point about sports on proper networks like FOX, ESPN, Etc. If you watch proper business channels like Bloomberg TV, you will see that opinions that matter and are considered weighty are from Financial experts and gurus with impressive experience and accomplishments.
This is the norm because you can only talk about what you know and be taken serious because you have the required background and/or experience.
People be passing comments like they know about blogging and social media more than Linda because they can code and have sat in some marketing class for two days… Shior!
Proof is the only thing you can not argue with… Show me your own before saying something will not work because you have one that works…
People should put caveats before their comments and not pass them on as informed opinions… Eg “I have never made $10k from blogging before, but i think Linda that has made more than $1m from blogging has just made a big mistake by starting this social media blogging thing… blah blah blah” Sounds strange, right?

PS: No disrespect meant
@PkayBola So the opinion of sports journalists and millions of fans don’t matter? Do you realize that some of the coaches have never kicked a ball in their life and their opinions turned out to be the reason why the teams were very successful? Have you ever heard of a coach called Jose Mourinho? He has coached a lot of football clubs in europe including Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Manchester United. Well, I don’t know if they show those european football teams on FOX, ESPN etc. but that guy has never kicked a football in his life and his opinion mattered so much to those teams.
What I am saying in summary is that you try to have a open perspective to opinions. Great opinions do not only reside in the brains of experienced folks.
