I apologise to all offended by that. I could have explained what I meant better.
Anyways, it’s still beta for now so I’m sure moving forward, they will be able to add distinct Nigerian features.
And yes I think ride-sharing services could work in Nigeria. Lets hope they already solved or at least figured out how to solve the “security/safety” challenge synonymous with our big cities.
Valid ID has to be the way to go, how do they verify it’s valid though? The social proof might not be very effective, I’ll suggest a combination of all available forms of verification, but how much info will riders be willing to share.
earning trust is sure going to be a long haul.
This is a great service. A few observations:
There is no clear pricing formula. Is there a way of knowing if a ride is full? Like if I offer a ride and want to ride with only 2 people, once 2 people join, does the ride become unavailable?
Drivers should scan their drivers license, id card and vehicle particulars as means of verification. But atleast make unna let the jekalo thing work first… This wahala should not weigh them down…
Dear Jekalo, how did you get my email address when I just heard about you yesterday? As much as I like what you all are doing, sending me unsolicited emails and adding me to your mailing list without my consent is a no-no. #petpeeves
Why the heck do you have to buy anyone’s email address? Your response to @Tolu basically reads “if you don’t like our service and chose not to register, we will buy your email address anyway and spam you regardless”. Not cool.
