Introducing GoalCheers... A new web based app designed to help people accomplish goals!

We all know that feeling… the year is about to end, we bring out a pen and paper to write down our new year resolutions… Lose weight, travel more, maybe finally take run that marathon this year.

The new year starts, we sign up for the gym, go a few weeks or months… then all of a sudden, we lose the fire, the drive, the motivation…

Say hello to www.GoalCheers.com - a new web-based platform that allows individuals achieve goals through crowdsourcing of support.

The platform allows users to create, track, get support, and achieve their goals by having constant stream of support and feedback from “cheerleaders”.

Users are able to create goals and enlist “cheerleaders” to help them achieve their said goals. These cheerleaders encourage, provide valuable feedback, and motivate the user to stay on track and achieve their stated goals.

The platform was conceived from the idea that having the support of family, friends, and trusted advisors dramatically improves the chances of accomplishing a goal.

We set out to develop a simple yet effective platform that enables users to select the people that can positively impact your life goals and help them ultimately transform their lives.
There is an opportunity to bridge the gap between individuals with life goals and access to mentors/supporters who may not be in the same geographical location.

GoalCheers is scheduled to launch on Tuesday May 9th 2017. Countdown to launch is @ www.goalcheers.com

In the meantime, please share your thoughts.

Why should a goal-setting app ever be web based instead of a mobile app? Why?

I’m concerned about your assumption that more support equals more performance.

Nigeria is by and large a communal environment and yet we don’t necessarily achieve more than our counterparts in other parts of the world.

I would argue that the number one reason people don’t achieve goals is due to a lack of the know how needed in achieving these goals. We don’t count the cost before putting those lofty goals on paper

You can’t also forget our staunch belief in haters. Why should I tell people my goals? I don’t want them giving my name to one baba in Sagamu.

I would suggest that you help users set mini milestones on their goals.

Thanks for the question. Greatly appreciated.

The idea of the web platform was to make it easier for early adopters to sign up, without worry of having to download a standalone app.

However, there are plans to launch the stand alone app in the very near future.

Again, thanks for your feedback.

@YoungSage

Thanks for the feedback. Very valid points regarding the culture. It was certainly a concern.

We feel Nigerians (a good amount at least) are becoming more comfortable with leveraging technology to achieve some of their goals (perhaps not the most sensitive ones though)

Hopefully with more platforms like ours, we can get to a point where more people feel comfortable enough.

Your suggestion about helping people set milestones is super awesome. Thanks a lot. We’ll certainly work on that.

Thanks again.
