I'm Nadayar Enegesi, Dir. of Learning, Andela. ASK ME ANYTHING!

Does andela have any near plans to have a presence in Port Harcourt like they do in Lagos?

And do you think its in the Plans of Andela to train developers remotely so that no one needs to fully relocate to Lagos to be an Andela fellow?

We have started exploring options outside of Lagos. We are running bootcamps in Calabar and Abuja. The people we select from those bootcamps would have to relocate to Lagos though.

Thereā€™s a lot more that goes into being an Andelan than developer training. Thereā€™s the inculturation process through daily personal interactions, and there are multiple internal communities and user groups that accelerate human transformation. The connections that we build by being physically together are invaluable. Until we figure out a way to replicate these experiences without physical spaces, we wonā€™t have remote Andela Fellows.

That being said, Andela exists to distribute opportunities. Thatā€™s why we have created our Distributed Learning Community (DLC) which aims to open learning opportunities for aspiring technologists outside Andela. One initiative thatā€™s thriving within our DLC is the Android Learning Community. The current edition is already in session with a total of 2,250 learners participating across 22 states in Nigeria. This current session ends in July 2017. So keep your eyes on our Twitter account for updates on the next edition.

You can learn to be a technologist without ever having to be Andelan.

Good day Nadayar, we are about to launch a start-up soon and will require hiring experienced developers especially from your outfit. What are the modalities if hiring developers and designers from your firm especially as regards pricing?
