For the Gamers! PC or Console

@ukay,

18 Months assuming processor development stays the same and Game developers aren’t eyeing the next best processors to be launched 6 months from now.

I didn’t say it was impressive. Like I said I’m not picking sides here. One of you mentioned obsolescence in 6 months and I thought to correct that.

Don’t be silly.

@ukay,

Was actually a Fighter Based game. EF200 I think…

Pick a side. Which most appeals to you :tongue: PC or Console.

You actually mis-read my post.
I was just remarking that some 10-20 years ago, that time period would have been in years.
Not every reply to your comment is a diss, @xolubi.

I actually just got back to Simulators and have X-Planes running on Steam on my Mac. Still works but I know it would feel better with a proper machine. However, I don’t want to buy a PC just to play a Flight SIM.

My apologies.

Most PC games are developed with Windows API meaning X360 Pad Compatible and also other Gamepads unless it’s a game built with mouse in mind like LOL, so that’s not really a valid point, also Flight “Simulator”, what do you expect, most PC gaming as of now use gamepads, and as for upgrading graphic cards, I will blame bad drivers, luckily Vulkan drivers will solve all that BS AMD puts us through in terms of bad open gl drivers, infact even on Android same issue too bad opengl drivers everywhere, it’s a constant mention in the emulation forums.

I’ll take consoles any day over PC. A PC that can run games properly would cost a lot more plus there are great exclusives like Uncharted etc. you can’t find on PC. In naija, finding PC games is kinda difficult, except you have enough data to bootleg it off the internet.:grinning:

PC Gaming is too expensive , your post is 1000% Correct a GTX 960 is like 130k , recently got Arkham knight on PS4 and the graphics was like wow, and this is supposed to be the weakest GPU, i will take my console like that jor.

In some cases there are no console options (e.g. flight simulation).
On the issue of PC gaming being too expensive, I believe that’s subjective rather than objective, because PCs & consoles do not sport the same performance levels.
If a GTX 960 costs about 130k like @dojoVader says, would a console that has it be less expensive than a PC option?

I lean to the console all day.

PC is way too expensive. If you want a laptop that can handle the requirements of some of the new games being released today, your RIG has to be top of the line… Most new games won’t run smoothly if you are not using a rig with a NVDIA graphics card using 2 or 4Gb of RAM (you need to be running about 16Gb of RAM) and the new i7 processors. All of which are on the high side

Saw an ASUS laptop with those specs at a mall. Cost? Upwards of 200k… That’s money for a brand new PS4 and maybe 2 or 3 CDs. Console for me please.

There is no console that can have a GTX 960 or equivalent, PC Gaming is actually expensive, it’s not subjective it’s an actual fact, Consoles are built for gaming, but with GPU(s) like that mostly gaming, workstation. PS4/X1 GPU are actually low entry cards.

Ergo, no console can have the performance of a PC fitted with such or its equivalent.

It’s expensive, true, but comparing price tags alone is not objective.

As someone that has played both console and PC games, I’ll say PC graphics are superior and best of all games can, most times, be tuned to fit the machine. Those sweet graphics you believe you see on your
As someone who knows (a little) about computer hardware, I’ll say consoles are really just PCs under the hood.
Also, PC gaming is really not as expensive as you think especially if you build your rig yourself and you can get really crazy configs that’ll be playing games for years for less than 800 USD.

PS: If PC means ‘Laptop’ to you, read on:
Buying a PC gives you a ready screen, battery and mobility which you will not get by buying any console. Thats the justification for the extra cost imo (at least if were being fair and you dont use your PC for surfing the internet and watching movies or coding or other PC stuff, which if you are, you have NO RIGHT to complain about price :confused: )

TL;DR PC gaming is KING.

EDIT: Linked here is a video of a 600 USD (instead of even 800) that can run the latest games at 1080p (which is the max resolution you’ll get from ANY console today - what more do you people want from PC biko???) and has all of that flexibility consoles don’t offer.

I did not expect complaints about PC tweaking to come from a tech forum. I’m a PC guy all day. Please note that there are also emulators for all previous generations of consoles, so if you’re a classic gamer like me, PC is a no brainer.

Console does it for me
