Filtering Through The Noise on Twitter

Okay so this how I use Twitter (hopefully there are other people out there like me):

I’m the kind of guy that looks for Golden nuggets in every thing I come across.

So every time I scroll through my feed, I favourite tweets that I think are very interesting especially articles from various news publications etc. I’m not the kind of person to read them immediately (unless it’s breaking news) so just before I go to bed, I go through my favourites and read all the articles I gave stars to during the day.

Sometimes I also go through a select number of users’ favourites and read the articles they starred that day (sounds like stalking lol).

Here is the problem:

It is very tedious. Scrolling through the noise just to find articles is tiring and going to each ‘selected’ user for their favourites also feels like a chore.

I found this site which sends you your favourites but it’s not working for some reason.

So I was wondering if there is any site like the one mentioned above?
However my ideal solution is a Timeline for favourites- aka filtering through the noise. Where I can also add other users.

If anyone has this same problem, please feel free to comment and If you have the solution- absolutely do comment, i really hope the solution to this exists.

One word - IFTTT.

You can set any action you want for when you favourite a tweet, such as saving it to your Pocket account, Evernote, etc. Possibilities? Endless.

Oh yeeeaah. IFTTT. SIgh. Okay I’ll check for some recipes. Thanks @xolubi.

My common advice to Twitter users who aren’t veterans of ‘IFTTT’ is to use Twitter lists. Twitter list being the default solution of filtering through the noise has been my best bet.

Twitter lists are useful, helpful, and effective for managing and optimizing Twitter experience. It always saves my ass when I get lost on the Twitter Dance Floor.

There’s also a number of unique ways to go about using Twitter List.

Tbh, I don’t know why I didn’t think of IFTTT in the first place. I use it for instagram->Twitter->Facebook and many others.

I checked over 2000 recipes related to twitter yday and the closest I have found to my solution is this. Saves your favourites to pocket.

I’m still looking for something that saves other peoples favourites to pocket OR lets me favourite anything they favourite. So if you find it please let me know.

Why don’t you just create one yourself? I mean, the triggers and actions are there for you to customize as you wish… and if what you are trying to do doesn’t appear configurable, then tough luck.

The screenshot above shows the available triggers for the Twitter connector. Unfortunately, there is no trigger for favourites by anyone besides yourself.

Yh. I’m leaning towards creating one for myself. But just didn’t want to “re-invent” the wheel so to speak. Thanks anyway.

Lol. Since you knew what you specifically wanted to do, just trying to do it would have saved you hours of browsing recipes. You’re welcome.

Ermm, why don’t you be more selective about the people you follow. Cut the noise out from the root. That’s what i do anyway.
