I was just going through a list of startups in several countries when I came across Groupon. Basically, it’s Coupon on steroids. You as a nigerian business owner, will you agree to such a bargain? And you as a simple nigerian, will you use such a service?
I use them when I buy domains online, probably because it’s about the only thing I buy online.
Ask DealDey, that’s their business model

or was, right now am a bit confused on what their strategy really is
On the long run, the groupon model is not sustainable… at a time Groupon was the fastest growing startup, but the story today is very different.

In 2013 there were about 30 Groupon clones across Africa. In 2017 only Dealdey remains, and even they did a massive retrenchment last year. That should tell you something.
Interesting. Heard of them but didn’t know that’s what they did. I thought they were some other online shopping platform like Konga, Jumia or Jiji
is jiji now a shopping platform…just asking…ict terms are somewhat crazy
I guess it is. You buy goods and services from Jiji, so that pretty much makes it an online shopping platform. The thing is just the way goods and services get on there.
What i’m trying to clarify is…jiji is a classifeds website…not the usual shopping platform…
It’s just a grammatical construct… , marketplace vs classifieds
