How did Black Friday go, everyone? Most of the reports I’ve heard are that “it was a scam”. Discounts were mostly paltry, sites were down for several periods of time. I didn’t buy anything, but I think the only significant discount I noticed on Jumia for phones was the Redmi 2 (10k price slash). I’d love to hear reports from this side.

Jumia was down, I couldn’t go beyond the homepage, search was not working, always returning error message…dealdey was the worst of them, my boss waited since 12:00am for the Samsung s6 only for it to be posted as sold out, I’ve always known Nigeria’s black Friday as scam…and they are really good at it.

I struggle to understand the rationale; the one day you have to prepare for spike in traffic is the one day uptime is shyte.
You spend money advertising Black Friday’s massive discount for online buyers and purportedly refuse to let them in, leaving many disgruntled spenders.
It’s either you’re the unlucky few or the joke is on them.

#DealDeyBlackFriday trended on that day. Top trend too and it wasn’t promoted. Your boss missed out on the deal.

Jumia cancelled my order
