Uber says that card payments are back again. Starting today, riders can now use all Mastercard and VISA debit cards to pay for their rides in Naira.

For a while now, you may have noticed that you couldn’t request Uber rides with your debit card as the payment option. Since they activated cash payments

, and in midst of Nigeria’s forex conundrum, I swore off paying for rides with my card, and it’s good to be able to go cashless again without receiving a haircut from my bank.

In the same vein – and in light of the Easter celebrations – they are offering “25% off all rides across Lagos”. The discounts are for only N2000 per ride though, and are limited to 2 trips per account between today, Friday March 25 and Monday, March 28, 2016.

We have reached out to Uber for comment, and we will update the story we get more information.
